SDRCA June Meeting Brings Industry Together for Education and Connection

The San Diego Roofing Contractors Association’s June dinner meeting brought together over 60 contractors, associates, and industry professionals for a meaningful night of education, collaboration, and connection.

While the event faced a few early hurdles—including a date change from April and challenges coordinating with Cal/OSHA—Executive Director Julia Barajas led the charge, working with precision and persistence to ensure the evening’s success. Through her coordination with Adam Cook of Dennis Cook Roofing, an SDRCA board member and longtime supporter, the team secured a welcoming venue and a hearty meal that set the tone for an engaging program. Adam’s hospitality and flexibility played a big role in making attendees feel at home.

The program featured a presentation from Victor Reyes of Cal/OSHA, focused on California’s updated height regulations, including the new 6-foot fall protection standard for residential and roofing work. Victor also shared valuable insight into specialized office appointments, a resource Cal/OSHA offers to help contractors navigate compliance in real time.

We’re especially grateful to the members who adapted to a new meeting setup and stuck with us through venue logistics like tight parking. Your presence, attention, and commitment to ongoing learning are what make these events worthwhile.

Special thanks to Jason Arnolde of Premier Roofing for confidently guiding the evening as program lead, and to our vendor partner Snell & Wilmer for their support and added legal perspective.

Save the date: The SDRCA Golf Tournament is set for August 25, 2025—we look forward to seeing you on the course for another day of connection, fun, and industry unity.
