Form 7 Now Includes Notice for Injured Workers to Consult Attorneys

Effective January 1, 2025, employers are required to post the updated Form 7, ensuring employees are informed about their rights under workers’ compensation laws. This form now includes critical information as per Assembly Bill 1870 (2024), which amended Labor Code Section 3550(d)(4).

Important:

  • Employees are advised they can consult with a licensed attorney to understand their rights.
  • Attorney fees are generally paid out of any recovery resulting from the claim.

Remember:

When an attorney represents an injured employee, the cost of workers’ comp claims can rise by 57% on average. A robust workers’ compensation claims process is crucial for employers to mitigate the risk of employees hiring an attorney.

Please ensure that this updated form is posted in a visible area where employees can easily access it.
